Welcome to Rosine Designs, home of Artist and Photographer Rosine Sörbom.
Born and raised on the beaches of Southern California, Rosine has always had of love of the beach and its many moods, from the famous sunny days with its sandy beaches and gentle waves, to the fury of nature with her wild waters and ferocious wind.
Rosine began taking art lessons as a child from famed local artist Gertrude Richardson. From her studio, Rosine learned to draw and paint and won several prizes in shows, including best of show and first places. When in high school, she discovered the magic of the camera and started taking pictures with her humble polaroid, small Kodak pocket camera, and shortly thereafter, her first SLR, a Canon AE1.
As time went on, Rosine continued her art pursuits in many different media including pastel (both oil and chalk), oil painting, acrylic painting, watercolor, stained glass, original needle work, mixed media, Photography, weaving, encaustics from artist Patti Akesson , and her newest endeavors of cold cloisonné which she learned from artist Bob E Mackie.
